9 months old!

This post is pretty late, but I wanted to post the stats. Em is now cruising around, pulling up and wandering around anything that is the right height for her to reach. She is a major mommy's girl, and cries cries cries when strangers attempt to take her from me or when I leave the room or when I am even thinking about leaving the room. She loves to clap and "dance" to music. I am having to try to wean her from her bottle a little earlier than I would have liked because she can't have it at daycare this fall when she returns. I'm giving her one in the morning and at night, but offering it to her in a sippy cup during the day. She does not enjoy this at all, but is has helped with the pickiness of the solid foods. I also attempted (and yes I know I am psycho) to wean from the pas. I called my friend Karie who also confirmed that I was being a psycho and quickly returned it to avoid further disaster. I will not be trying that trick again for quite some time! Enjoy Em's 9 month pics!

Splashin' in the Pool & My 2nd Anniversary

We went swimming at our friend Laura's house a week or so ago. em wore her itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny red polka dot bikini. i, on the other hand, did not want to do permanent damage to my children's psychoschematic development. I wore my whale suit. Em was not phased by this. However, she did not enjoy this duck. And I did not either. I am actually pretty bitter about this purchase. The stupid 40+ UV blue sun shade would not even stay up!!! We have now purchased a spring float to try on our trip to Florida.

Gary and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary on Wednesday. Honestly, it feels like it has been much longer. He gave me a beautiful card and a sewing machine! I was really surprised. I have been wanting to learn to sew for awhile. We went and ate dinner at Jim's Place in Memphis. We will be taking a 3-day vacation by ourselves to Pigeon Forge in a couple of weeks! Yea! Here's a pic of the flowers I got on Monday. I had had a really stressful couple of days with Em and my sweet husband just wanted to cheer me up...

Who does Emily look like?

Many people ask me this question that have not seen Gary. I now present to you a picture of Gary around her age. Yes, I know they look a lot alike but I have hope that she will grow to look like her mother...

First Time in the Pool...

Here are a few pics of Em in the pool yesterday for the first time... And here are a couple of birthday cake choices. Which do you like best - the first one or the second? The theme is going to be green/pink polka dots & cupcakes.
Obviously the name at the bottom of this one would be changed, and the icing would be pink and green instead of yellow and blue.

Summer Vacation?

Meet sweet Emily. This adjective applies to when she is asleep. Then I forget about all the bawl-bagging I have endured throughout the day and just stare at her little hand up by her face.
Emily loves loves loves Katie and Noah! Here they are playing before breakfast.
And this is the beginning of the end. The dreaded naptime. The little hand emerging. I didn't take a picture of the full-blown standing up fit because I couldn't be there for it. It's not cute to me!

And, I thought the reason we all became teachers was for the summer vacation. I guessed I missed the part that when you become a mother there is no summer vacation. I've only been out of school for 5 days and already the kids are bored, arguing... and i am happy to admit that i will be all too ready for them to head to florida with their mom on saturday for a whole week! Now, i suppose you are thinking that then, vacation will start. However, you have not met emily. This girl keeps me hopping ALL THE TIME. Right now, she is standing up in her bed, bawl-bagging, not wanting to take a nap. Someone help me! Honestly, by the time she goes to sleep, I am so stressed out that I just want to plop down on the couch, even though I have so much to do. This is only for naptimes, though. She goes to bed just fine. I don't understand!!!
Now, we have started solid food. I am going to throw a no-more-having-to-make-baby-food party very soon. And the menu will be all the frozen cubes I have in my freezer. And the game will be to guess the cube!

These pics are all out of order. Sorry, Cyndi! I however am too stressed out to move them around or use some editing skills. I am going to plop down on the couch!

Katie & Noah both had their spring programs this week. Katie got "Most Improved" student in her class! We are very proud of her and Noah. Here are a few pics...

Ahoy, there matey!

Couldn't resist sharing this absolutely ridiculous pic of my hub. Okay, ladies - do you have the same experience as I? When they are hurt, they are like another child! It drives me nuts. I went out in the garage, and noticed gary was sharpening his lawn mower blades with no safety goggles on. Being on mom safety patrol, I must say that I warned him. Sure enough and $65 later, he had to go to an opthamologist to have a fragment removed. Hate to say I told you so! (Not really...) I kind of get joy out of saying i told you so.

And what post would be complete without my little Em? She has started eating little cereal puffs. These are organic flax puffs that I hand-molded and of course i am kidding. she's all about the gerber graduates! She just has a little trouble getting them in her mouth...
